Meet Our Founder

Herb Williams – SuperDogs® Founder & Creative Consultant

When Herb got his first dog, a chow chow named Koko, it was the beginning of a beautiful relationship.  And not just with Koko, but with hundreds of dogs who have all starred in SuperDogs® performances for nearly four decades.

Herb initiated the first entertainment show with dogs at a Championship Dog Show when he was President of the Metropolitan Kennel Club in Toronto.  Herb knew he was on to something by the reaction of the crowds, and it was not long before he created and organized the first official SuperDogs® performance, making its debut at the Pacific National Exhibition in Vancouver, British Columbia, in 1976.

Herb remains very active within the SuperDogs® family and is an integral player in key aspects of SuperDogs® productions.  His inimitable creative, artistic, musical and dramatic talents are reflected in every show.

When Herb is not working at enhancing SuperDogs® performances, he takes special pride in the accomplishments of his three grandchildren, Marcel, Colin, and Madeline, who live in Savannah, Georgia, and loves visiting with them with his wife, Joan.  Herb plays piano with a passion, something he has done since the age of three, and follows the latest trends closely in order to keep the sounds of SuperDogs performances current.

Although Herb has officially retired, don’t be surprised to see him make guest appearances in the future. You can’t keep a good SuperStar down – and he will always be with us to soar with the SuperDogs®.
